Independence Academy Visits Kaleidoscope
On Friday, February 10th, students from Independence Academy Day Treatment took a learning field trip to Kaleidoscope in Crown Center. Students in grades 1-5 were first treated to a book reading about the power of kindness. From there, students were able to move through stations that included using paints and a machine that dries the picture and a station where students could color a picture and have it turned into a puzzle. Because of the time of year, students had the option of hand-making valentine cards. The favorite station was a black-light room where students were allowed to paint with glow-in-the dark paint and have their picture projected onto the wall. At Kaleidoscope, students were able to interact between grade levels and with students from other area schools; students who attended the field trip brought home goodie-bags filled with their art-inspired creations.
