Initiative; The CHARACTERplus Winners for March are named

Justin Coons from Van Horn High School and Christina Bateman from Bryant Elementary take top honors for having the most initiative this month.

Justin Coons was nominated with this submission; Justin has spent countless hours in tutoring to improve his grades. He has matured into a student and person who is a credit to Van Horn and our community. He continues to be a great influence in our school as a member of various teams and activities. Justin has significantly improved his GPA.  He not only exemplifies but defines the term INIATIVE through his metamorphosis into a great person and student. Justin continues to develop through his personal relationships with students and staff members as evidenced through his increased involvement in the high school experience.

 Christina Bateman was nominated and a staff member sent this in; Christina is the morning custodian at Bryant.  In that role she works directly with all staff members and students at Bryant.  Christina started working at Bryant in 2010.  In that time, all of Bryant knows her as hard worker and a person that embodies the word initiative. Christina willingly gives everyone at Bryant her best effort.  She possesses a superb attitude and she is always ready to help.  Christina and her husband Gustavo are parents of two wonderful boys.  Christina is a foundational piece in the foundation that allows Bryant to be a successful school.
