Art teacher Kristie McKeen teaches color scheme and balanced design with an art project. The pieces were created by folding colorful, rectangular paper sheets placed in a symmetrical pattern.

The William Chrisman Boys and Girls Track Teams was chosen as the Hy-Vee and Fox 4 Team of the Week. Kindergarten Roundup 2012
To help families prepare for kindergarten and to help the district plan for the upcoming school year, all elementary schools will host “kindergarten roundup” sessions for incoming kindergarten students.
To be eligible for kindergarten in the Independence School District children must be 5 years old before Aug. 1st. The dates and times for each school are posted below.
