The Independence Robotics Team Prepares for a big tournament

The Independence Robotics Team (FBI: FIRST Bots of Independence) will be sponsoring the second annual Robert Clothier Memorial Truman Town Robotics Tournament.  The Tournament will take place at Bingham Middle School in Independence on Saturday, December 1.

Thirty-five middle school robotics teams from around the Kansas City area will be  testing their homemade Lego robots in this year’s challenge, “Senior Solutions.”    There will be a whole lot of energy, creativity, and hard work on display.

You can even cheer on our very own Lego team, the Shadowkeepers, from Bingham, Bridger, and Pioneer Ridge.

This year the teams will begin arriving at 7:15 a.m. with an opening ceremony at 9:00 a.m. in the main gym.  Teams will compete from 9:45 a.m. until 3:45 p.m. with an awards ceremony from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.  The public are welcome to attend.
