Enjoy the Holiday Season and Watch the Mayor’s Christmas Concert

In case you missed it BSSDTV on Comcast 15 will air the Mayor’s Christmas Concert on Thursday, December 13th.   The concert will repeat all the way through midday Friday, December 14th.

The concert, which was started in 1985, featured performances by fourth grade students from the Independence and Fort Osage School Districts, Nativity of Mary School, Center Place Restoration School, and Messiah Lutheran School. Catherine Lynch, with the Independence School District, was the musical coordinator.

In addition, the Spirit of Independence Band and the Truman and Van Horn High School choirs performed.   Dick Wilson from 94.9 KCMO radio was the master of ceremonies for the hour-long program, which included an audience sing-along.

The program is also aimed at raising the awareness of those in need living in Independence. Since its inception, the concert has raised more than $260,000 for assistance programs and services that are administered through the CSL.

The concert will also air at 7 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday each week through the end of the year on Channel 7, City 7.
