Truman High School Students Demonstrate Compassion!
Truman High School News Media students cancelled their usual plans for a gift exchange with each other for a more benevolent gesture. The group decided to take the money they would normally spend on the gifts for each other and instead bought Christmas gifts for a single mother and her four children.
Truman High School News Media Information Director senior Jordan Bruening came up with the idea and collected $225 from his fellow staff members. He got information from the Salvation Army on the family and their holiday wish list. Bruening, along with seniors Taylor Barber and Alejandra Calderon and junior Michaela Bishop went to Wal-Mart and bought the gifts. They will deliver them to the Salvation Army for distribution to the family.
