Chiefs Player Visits Randall Elementary to promote healthy living

Students at Randall Elementary dressed in red and gold to celebrate the NFL’s Play 60 Assembly Tuesday December, 18th.

The students cheered as Tight End Chiefs player Steve Maneri  joined KC Wolf and a few other Chiefs staff members to promote physical fitness and healthy eating.

The students had the chance to meet the Chiefs Tight End player because Randall Elementary won the Play 60 Assembly through the Holiday Helper’s challenge.

Every year the Independence School District Foundation sells Chiefs tickets to support the  program.  This year the foundation sold nearly a thousand Chiefs tickets.  When people purchased the special discounted tickets to select games, they also made a donation to Holiday Helpers, assisting families in need over the holiday season.  Over the years Holiday Helpers has provided nearly $90,000 to  families for gifts for children and $30,000 for holiday meals.

During the assembly the Chiefs gave the school a special football and banner to help the student remember to play for sixty minutes a day and continue their commitment to health and wellness.
