Two William Chrisman High School Seniors Win Horatio Alger Scholarships
Two William Chrisman High School Seniors have been awarded Horatio Alger Scholarships. Only 10 awards are given each year and the scholarship is worth $6,000 to the student’s school of choice.
The Horatio Alger Missouri Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to students in Missouri who show integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity and who aspire to pursue higher education.
Michael Smith takes a rigorous course load and competes successfully on the debate team. He is motivated to be successful in spite of some challenging life circumstances that he has encountered. Michael plans to continue on his road to success by attending college and then law school.
Elizabeth Snow is a talented musician, strong athlete, and outstanding academic student. She has continued to succeed despite financial hardship and other personal and family adversities. Elizabeth never compromises her values, repeatedly rises to highest expectations, and demonstrates strong personal character. Elizabeth plans to continue her love of learning and passion for music in college.
This is the third year that Chrisman students have recieved Horatio Alger Scholarships.
