Pioneer Ridge “Sticks” to the Message Behind The Great Kindness Challenge

Posted January 30, 2015

Pioneer Kindness 1Pioneer Kindness 2For a handful of Pioneer Ridge Middle School students, the true message of The Great Kindness Challenge really “stuck” with them- literally!

Students Keeley Roberts and Alexa Ortiz came up with the idea to make sticky notes to put on lockers with phrases like “you’re responsible” and “you’re amazing.” Joined by classmates Vivian Xayaphet, Jaelyn Werremeyer and Joellie Allwin, all five came to school early and “posted” the ‘post it notes’ on lockers throughout the school so other students could start their day with a positive thought. More than 150 lockers were decorated with original, one-of-a-kind kindness notes!

“It was awesome,” said Jami Pelzl, school counselor. “It really epitomized what The Great Kindness Challenge is all about!”
