Truman High School’s Student Council was awarded the Missouri Association of Student Councils Gold Honor Council Award by the Honor Council Committee of the Missouri Association of Student Councils (MASC). Truman received the award at the annual MASC Convention at Park Hill South High School.

Truman’s council submitted an application for consideration and met the criteria established by the Honor Council committee and the MASC Advisory Board. The established criteria honors councils that have a comprehensive program in promoting student activities and student leadership. Activities include school service, spirit, community service, student and teacher recognition and leadership training activities.

“Truman’s student council and student leaders make a positive contribution to their schools and help to create a positive educational climate,” said Karen Haak, MASC chairman. “We recognize the advisorship of Angie Zarrillo and leadership of Principal Pam Boatright and commend them for supporting the young leaders of Truman High School.”
