Bingham health fair IMG_4277 (1)Thanks to their partnership with Centerpoint Medical Center, Bingham Middle School eighth-grade students learned what it takes to work in the medical profession during the school’s Health Career Fair. More than a dozen Centerpoint professionals spoke to the students about their particular job.

“Presenters came from throughout the hospital including ambulance drivers, nurses, nurse practitioners, a phlebotomist and a dietician,” said Angela Mathews, Bingham counselor. “The purpose of the career fair was to expose Bingham students to the variety of careers available in the medical field.”

Mathews said the fair left quite an impression on the eighth-graders. “Several students came to me and said it was really ‘informative’ and ‘cool,’” she said. Mathews added the fair, which she called a “curriculum enrichment activity,” would not have been possible without Centerpoint’s support.
