Posted May 7, 2015

ISD high school students won 16 Grand awards and two students received scholarships during the State Industrial Technology Contest at Lake of the Ozarks. Every ISD student received a 1 rating, making district facilitators deservedly proud of their efforts.

“Everyone needs to congratulate these students for all of their hard work and effort,” said Aaron Smith, Truman industrial technology teacher. “They represented Independence well at the state level once again.”

Two students- Van Horn’s Jalisa Curtin and Truman’s Jacqueline Stock- received scholarships. Curtin’s from Lincoln Tech and Stock’s from the Technology Education Association of Missouri (TEAM). Another Truman student, Jasmine Clevenger, scored a perfect 100 on the state test issued to every participant during the contest.

Students from the three ISD high schools along with students from nearly 50 other high schools across Missouri put their works on display.
