Leslie Stikeleather, Korte Elementary School physical education teacher, was named the 2015 Kansas City District Elementary Physical Education Teacher of the Year by the Missouri Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (MOAHPERD). Stikeleather was officially recognized during the MOAHPERD State Convention at Lake of the Ozarks November 14. She was one of just six elementary physical education teachers honored statewide and was also a candidate for the Missouri Elementary Physical Education Teacher of the Year award.

“This is a huge honor for the ISD,” said Cynthia Leutzinger, the district’s physical education facilitator.

“The district selection committee was greatly impressed by your (Stikeleather’s) credentials and supporting letters,” said Becky Hoffman, the Kansas City MOAHPERD district representative. “We can all be proud to have people like you as colleagues.”
