Chrisman Orchestra’s First Craft Fair October 3

Posted September 25, 2015

William Chrisman orchestra students are looking at a new and ‘crafty’ way to raise money- hosting their very first Craft Fair Saturday, Oct. 3 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the high school.

Several vendors are participating in the fair with a large variety of crafts and products for sale including quilts, jewelry, knitted items, holiday decorations, accessories, Thirty One Bags, Scentsy and much more. Profits benefit the program and help several members go to Savannah, Georgia for an orchestra camp this summer. Orchestra Director Melissa Guillory was looking a way to help make money for the program and also involve the community.

“I wanted to find an annual fundraiser for a long time to benefit the orchestra and help students for our orchestra trip,” she said.

Guillory is looking forward to having a successful craft fair this year. She hopes to continue this in future years to help support her students and upcoming artists in her class. Orchestra students are also looking forward to the event.

“I’m excited,” Brigitte Kavanaugh said. “It’s our first year doing the craft fair, hopefully we will get to make a lot of money and get to see a lot of different vendors participate.”
