Power Up for Warmth October 9

Posted October 6, 2015

Several Independence community organizations and the Independence School District Foundation (ISDF) have joined together to keep Independence children and families warm this winter. Volunteers will be collecting blankets (new blankets only) and monetary donations for the annual Power Up for Warmth drive Friday, October 9 before kickoff (7 p.m.) of the Truman/William Chrisman football game at All District Stadium (1223 N. Noland Rd.). Donations will be accepted at the stadium entrance.

Independence Power & Light (IPL) graciously agreed to match the funds collected at the game plus half of the gate receipts as a contribution to the cause.

Power Up for Warmth is a partnership between the ISDF, IPL, the City of Independence Hungry and Homeless Coalition and the Community Services League. For more information, call (816) 521-5300.
