Vision Statement

Every student within the Independence School District will have the opportunity to develop a foundation of health and wellness that leads to their academic success and lifelong achievement.

Mission Statement

The Independence School District Nurses will work within the framework of the nursing process to create and maintain overall wellness, which includes healthy social, psychological, physiological, intellectual and emotional development over the lifetime of each student. In a collaborative effort with community members, educators and parents the nurses will develop programs dedicated towards a healthy lifestyle leading to academic success, lifelong achievement and overall well-being.
