WHAT IS IMPACT?
IMPACT stands for Independence Missouri Program for Academically and Creatively Talented. It serves identified students in grades 2-8 from every elementary and middle school in the district. In the elementary school students attend IMPACT one day a week at the Santa Fe Annex. Along with core classes in math, science, literacy, and social studies; students work with creativity, logical thinking, problem solving, and issues dealing with the affective needs of gifted student.
In middle school students attend IMPACT in their designated school one class period every day. The curriculum is differentiated to meet the needs of students and prepare them for advanced placement classes in high school. Students attend IMPACT in their designated school one class period every day and will be evaluated on the same grade point scale as all middle school classes.
