ISD Academy Jamboree

Posted January 26, 2016

Thank you parents and students who joined us for Academy Jamboree! This event was a wonderful opportunity for staff and business partners to talk with parents and students about the Career Academies here in the ISD and share the exciting additions for the 2016-2017 school year. Truman, Van Horn and William Chrisman all held Jamborees and had great attendance. Students will soon be choosing their Academy and Pathway and the Jamboree served as a tool to help inform students of the array of choices.

Thanks to the partnership between the ISD and Ford Next Generation Learning, the district is one of 19 school districts nationwide transforming public high schools into career-themed academies. The academies provide opportunities for high school students to learn academics with the focus on a potential career like engineering, health care, technology and marketing. This model better prepares students for college and professional success.
