Registration and Back to School Information

We are ready to welcome students back to school! The first day of the 2017-18 school year is August 17. Please take a look at the important information and links listed below to prepare for the new school year:

Registration:

Independence School District online registration for all new and returning students is underway.  If you have not yet registered, go to http://sites.isdschools.org/admissions to begin the process using your computer, tablet or smartphone. If you have any questions or would like help through the process, please call our Admissions Center at 816-521-5588.

If your child is a returning ISD student and you have not received your child’s student ID and PIN number in the mail, please contact your neighborhood school or the Admissions Center at 816-521-5588.

Vaccinations:
In order to register, Missouri law requires all students be up-to-date on their immunizations. The Independence School District along with the City of Independence Health Department will offer MCV and TDAP clinics for ISD middle and high school students on the following dates and times:

Tuesday, August 8
9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Pioneer Ridge Middle School
3 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Nowlin Middle School

Wednesday, August 9
9 a.m. – 7 p.m. at Truman High School

A parent must be present to sign a consent form. If you have insurance, a card is required and the insurance will be billed. It will be free if you don’t have insurance. Please click here for more information on vaccinations.

Bus Passes:

Elementary students should receive bus passes in the mail during the week of August 7. Middle and high school students will receive bus passes at residency verification/schedule pick-up.
