ISD Students and Staff Raise $30,000 for United Way

Posted October 1, 2017

Dunk tanks and slime the principal were just a couple of the fun and creative incentives used in the ISD to raise $30,145 for the United Way of Greater Kansas City!

Staff members at Bridger Middle School hopped in the dunk tank to raise money at their school. Korte Elementary Principal Ron Alburtus and Assistant Principal Stephanie Merriott volunteered to be ‘slimed’ by students from each class as a donation incentive. Benton Elementary Principal raced students on tricycles during recess to celebrate their generosity and giving spirit.

Our staff created unforgettable moments while reminding students of the importance of giving back to those in need. It was heartwarming to witness the kindness and generosity of our Independence community!
