Posted January 17, 2018

ISD fourth grade student McKenna Luptak was named the Win for KC Children’s Mercy Rising Star for her work with Kenna’s Cuddles. McKenna started Kenna’s Cuddles at just seven years old, delivering gift bags filled with stuffed animals and fun activities to patients at Children’s Mercy. The Win for KC Children’s Mercy Rising Star Award recognizes athletes making a positive impact on their community. The young philanthropist also received the Nicholas Green Distinguished Scholar Award. Only one person from each state receives this award honoring individuals with a desire to help others. McKenna grew her gift bag donations from 20 to 200 in one year alone and plans to continue to grow Kenna’s Cuddles. KSHB featured McKenna’s story. Congratulations, McKenna!
