Cassell Park Elementary Ribbon Cutting

Posted April 5, 2019

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Cassell Park Elementary’s ribbon cutting and open house on Thursday, April 4. It was a wonderful evening, welcoming students, parents and community members to see the exciting progress on the Independence School District’s 20th elementary school.

Cassell Park Elementary was built thanks to the passage of a $38 million bond to ease overcrowding, eliminate all mobile trailers in the district and advance the Academy model for all ISD high school students. Voters overwhelmingly passed the bond in April of 2017. Cassell Park Elementary has the latest technology, with an expansive media center and collaborative student workspaces for enrichment and small group opportunities. Cassell Park Elementary will also feature Project Lead the Way (PLTW) embedded into the curriculum. Cassell Park Elementary, at 31st Street and Hardy Avenue, will open for summer school on May 29.
