ISD Covid-19 Vaccination Clinic

Posted July 8, 2021

The Independence School District is partnering with the City of Independence to offer the COVID-19 vaccine for those students 12 and older who choose as well as ISD parents and guardians. You and your student can receive the free Pfizer vaccine at Van Horn High School on Thursday, August 12th between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Fully vaccinated students will not be required to quarantine in the event an individual in close proximity tests positive for Covid-19.

Those who received their first dose on July 13th will receive their second dose on August 5th between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. at Van Horn High School.

What to Wear: The shot goes into your arm just below your shoulder so please wear something that allows you to expose that part of your arm comfortably. While masks are no longer required, the CDC and Independence Health Department strongly recommend that all individuals who are not fully vaccinated continue to wear masks.

Those receiving the vaccine will be monitored for 15 minutes after the vaccine is administered for any reactions.
