Children’s Services Fund
The Independence School District (ISD) is proud to collaborate with the Children's Services Fund (CSF) of Jackson County to enhance the well-being and academic success of our students. This partnership enables the district to place a Family Service Liaison (FSL) in every school, providing direct support to over 14,000 students across 30 buildings.
FSLs play a crucial role in connecting families with essential services, including mental health support, crisis intervention, and community resources. They assist students facing challenges such as homelessness, behavioral issues, and those at risk of suspension, ensuring that all students have the support they need to thrive.
The CSF, funded by a voter-approved ⅛ cent sales tax, has awarded over $185 million to support children's mental health and social-emotional well-being in Jackson County. Since 2018, the fund has supported 102 projects, including school-based services, that reach approximately 64,000 children annually.
Through this partnership, ISD and CSF are committed to fostering a supportive environment where every student has the opportunity to succeed academically and personally.
