Convocation 2025
Join us as we kick off the new school year at Convocation 2025, a district-wide celebration honoring our staff, students, and community. This annual event sets the tone for the year ahead with inspiring messages, special recognitions, and a shared spirit of unity.
New Teacher Academy 2025
Over three engaging days, teachers connected with one another, met district leadership, and participated in interactive sessions designed to prepare them for the year ahead. From cultural proficiency and classroom strategies to mentorship and team-building, each day was filled with opportunities to learn, grow, and feel supported. We’re confident our new teachers are ready to inspire, challenge, and guide their students toward success this school year.
Swing to Inspire Golf Tournament
The "Swing to Inspire Golf Tournament" brought together community members, local businesses, and ISD supporters for a memorable day on the course, all in the spirit of giving back. Golfers enjoyed friendly competition, contests, and connection, while helping raise funds to support ISD Foundation programs that directly benefit students and teachers. From Dual Credit scholarships to classroom grants and Caring for Kids initiatives, the tournament showcased the power of community coming together to inspire learning and opportunity across the district.
2025 Fall Parties
Our Fall Parties were a huge hit this year! District leaders visited schools across the district, spreading seasonal cheer and handing out candy to students. We’re so grateful to our leaders for taking the time to celebrate with our students and make this fall season extra special!
Legacy Breakfast
Join the Independence School District for the 2nd annual Legacy Breakfast and Student Showcase. An opportunity dedicated to honoring our district, our multitude of students, and their outstanding achievements.
Mayor Quinton Lucas Visits the ISD
We were so happy to have Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas tour our district and see what makes our community so special. Our ISD Academies students helped guide Mayor Lucas along the way, as they explained our programs and how they set students up for success.
2025 Mayor's Christmas Concert
The 38th Annual Mayor’s Christmas Concert featured wonderful performances from ISD 4th graders and the William Chrisman choir. Families filled the venue for an afternoon of holiday music. The event supported the Community Services League and brought our community together to celebrate the season.
