3 Credits Required
4 Credits Recommended for Post-Secondary Education

Students must earn at least three math credits to graduate. Four credits are recommended for students planning to pursue post-secondary education. The pathways below outline suggested course sequences. Students may move between pathways based on ability and choice.


Pathway Options

Option 1: Traditional Pathway with support

9th Grade
Algebra I (EDC required) – 1 credit
     -or-
Algebra IA – 1 credit

10th Grade
Geometry – 1 credit
     -or-
Algebra IB (EDC required) – 1 credit

11th Grade
Algebra II-A – 1 credit
     -or-
Geometry – 1 credit

12th Grade
Algebra II-B – 1 credit
     -or-
Algebra II – 1 credit

Additional Support (Optional)
Essential Math (Structured Support)
-1 credit per year
-Counts as a Math credit and an Elective credit


Option 2: TRADITIONAL PATHWAY

9th Grade
Algebra I (EDC required) – 1 credit

10th Grade
Geometry – 1 credit

11th Grade
Algebra II – 1 credit

12th Grade
Students select one of the following:
-College Algebra – 1 credit
-Probability & Statistics – 0.5 credit
-Advanced Algebra – 0.5 credit


Option 3: Honors / Advanced Pathway

9th Grade
Honors Geometry – 1 credit

10th Grade
Honors Algebra II (EDC required) – 1 credit

11th Grade
Students select one of the following:
-AP Statistics – 1 credit
-Precalculus & Trigonometry – 1 credit
-Advanced Algebra – 1 credit

12th Grade
Students select one of the following:
-Precalculus & Trigonometry – 1 credit
-AP Statistics – 1 credit
-College Algebra – 1 credit
-Math 105/190 – 1 credit
