Establishing a Positive Performance Space 

  • Develop and practice exercises in relaxation, focus, trust, and playfulness

Audition Workshop 

  • Review types of auditions 
  • Identify and practice the process of preparing an audition 

Develop Characterization Techniques 

  • Develop and practice characterization skills that lead to character choice and discovery 
  • Develop and practice observation skills to advance character development 
  • Develop character histories 
  • Develop and practice objective, obstacle, tactic, inner monologue, and subtext 

Develop Script Analysis Techniques 

  • Research, discuss and analyze author’s intent and dramatic structure 
  • Analyze and break down a script into units, beats, objectives, and super objectives. 

Develop Scripted Performances 

  • Read and analyze scripts for performance 
  • Develop a character history for a scripted performance 
  • Develop, perform, and critique a partner scene
