Physical Education (7th & 8th Grade)
The following learning targets represent the major concepts studied and assessed in this course.
Semester 1
Fitness Testing
- Identify the five fitness components
- Complete fitness assessments using proper technique
- Understand how physical activity supports overall health
Team & Individual Sports Skills
Students will demonstrate proper technique and game understanding in activities such as:
- Football (throwing, catching, routes)
- Soccer (passing, dribbling, shooting, defense)
- Volleyball (bump, set, serve, spike)
- Badminton (forehand, backhand, serve, volley)
- Floor Hockey (dribble, pass, shoot)
- Basketball (dribble, pass, shoot, rebound)
Semester 2
Students will continue developing sport-specific skills and strategies in activities such as:
- Nitroball
- Team Handball
- Pickleball
- Leisure Games
- Baseball
- Frisbee / Ultimate Frisbee
Ongoing Fitness
- Identify and improve fitness components
- Apply proper technique during fitness assessments
- Understand the connection between physical activity and a healthy body
