Physical Education (7th & 8th Grade)

The following learning targets represent the major concepts studied and assessed in this course.

Semester 1

Fitness Testing

  • Identify the five fitness components
  • Complete fitness assessments using proper technique
  • Understand how physical activity supports overall health

Team & Individual Sports Skills

Students will demonstrate proper technique and game understanding in activities such as:

  • Football (throwing, catching, routes)
  • Soccer (passing, dribbling, shooting, defense)
  • Volleyball (bump, set, serve, spike)
  • Badminton (forehand, backhand, serve, volley)
  • Floor Hockey (dribble, pass, shoot)
  • Basketball (dribble, pass, shoot, rebound)

Semester 2

Students will continue developing sport-specific skills and strategies in activities such as:

  • Nitroball
  • Team Handball
  • Pickleball
  • Leisure Games
  • Baseball
  • Frisbee / Ultimate Frisbee

Ongoing Fitness

  • Identify and improve fitness components
  • Apply proper technique during fitness assessments
  • Understand the connection between physical activity and a healthy body
