Introduction to Acting & Debate

The following learning targets represent the major concepts studied and assessed in this course.

Semester 1

Unit 1: Acting

• Use movement, blocking, and technical elements in performance
• Portray characters using voice and physicality
• Use rehearsal time productively and memorize lines

Unit 2: Speaking & Listening

• Speak confidently with proper volume, clarity, posture, and expression
• Provide and analyze feedback
• Demonstrate appropriate audience behavior

• Develop arguments supported by research and evidence
• Organize ideas clearly for presentation
• Listen, question, and refute opposing arguments
