The following learning targets represent the major concepts studied and assessed in this course.

Semester 1

Unit 1: Line

• Apply line in artwork
• Use a grid system to render a portrait
• Understand two-point perspective
• Identify and create still life artwork

Unit 2: Space

• Create typography portraits
• Create landscape drawings
• Identify macro paintings

Unit 3: Texture

• Apply colored pencil techniques to create texture
• Create scratch art
• Apply texture using ceramics and fibers

Unit 4: Color / Value

• Identify analogous and tertiary colors
• Render portraits
• Create three-dimensional forms using value
• Identify pop art

Unit 5: Shape / Form

• Create radial balance using shapes
• Create sculptures utilizing form
• Identify modern art
