District Communication

District-level communication keeps families informed about policies, major events, and updates that affect all students.

Examples:

  • Weather-related closures or delays

  • Districtwide updates

  • Monthly digital newsletter ISD Insider

  • Superintendent messages and announcements

  • Safety notifications (lockdown alerts, emergency messages)

  • School calendar updates (start/end dates, breaks)

  • Information about district programs (transportation, nutrition, enrollment)

  • Board of Education news and decisions

  • Celebrations and highlights of student and staff successes, district awards, and positive news

School Communication

School-level communication shares information specific to one building.

Examples:

  • Principal newsletters

  • School event reminders (concerts, picture day, field day)

  • Building-specific schedule changes (early release, assemblies)

  • PTA announcements and volunteer opportunities

  • School-wide behavior expectations and recognition programs

  • School-specific safety alerts or updates

  • Spotlighting student achievements, staff recognition, and school traditions

Classroom Communication

Classroom communication is focused on your child’s daily learning and teacher connection.

Examples:

  • Homework reminders and classwork information

  • Upcoming tests, quizzes, and project due dates

  • Classroom celebrations or supply requests

  • Student progress updates

  • Photos or highlights from classroom activities

  • One-to-one messages from teachers about your child

  • Sharing student work, classroom milestones, and positive feedback

ParentSquare (Primary Communication Platform)

ParentSquare is our districtwide communication tool for announcements, updates, and two-way messaging between staff and families.

  • Receive alerts via text, email, or app notifications

  • View school and classroom news in one place

  • RSVP for events, complete forms, and sign up for conferences

PowerSchool is the district’s Student Information System (SIS) where parents and students can view grades, attendance, class schedules, and teacher feedback in real time. Regular logins help families stay informed and students stay on track throughout the school year.
