ParentSquare (PSQ) important information
- The first parent/guardian contact listed in PowerSchool (usually the person who completes a student's online registration) is opted in to PSQ communication. (PowerSchool is our district's student information system.)
- During online registration, the person filling it out is given a checkbox to opt-in to communication for up to two additional contacts (three contacts total per student.)
- In order to change your contact information or authorize additional contacts to receive communications, you must reach out to your student's school. The building updates that information in PowerSchool, which syncs overnight with ParentSquare. This information cannot be changed manually in ParentSquare.
- When a contact is authorized to receive communications for a student, that person is automatically opted in to receive PSQ messages: emails, SMS (text), and voice memos (robocalls), instantly.
- Instantly - this means when the sender clicks send, it goes immediately to the recipients.
- Digest - this is the second method of receiving PSQ communications: this setting sends one single summary of all ISD/school ParentSquare messages, at about 6:00 p.m. Please note: urgent messages override this Digest settings.
- If you download the ParentSquare app, you will also instantly receive app notifications (via text).
- You can change your notification settings (which ones you want to receive) and when you receive them (instantly or digest) by following the steps below.

Download, access PSQ app
Use the camera on your phone to scan these QR codes - it takes you directly to the App or Google Play store.

Once you download the app, open it and enter the email address provided when registering your student online -or- whatever contact email address you have provided to your student's school. (You can also sign in with Google or Microsoft.)

Types of Notifications
How to Resubscribe to Notifications
Email: to opt back in via email, you must find any previously-received email from ParentSquare in your inbox and click the "Unsubscribe" link. (This would be the same link you used to stop notifications.)
Text messages: text "START" to the number 66458 or reply "START" to the previously received "STOP" message that came in when you unsubscribed from notifications.
ParentSquare allows users to customize their notifications by notification type and select their preferred delivery method for each school and district.
You can set the frequency of notifications for posts. The Instant setting will send all post notifications in real time. The Daily Digest setting sends posts at the end of the day (at about 6:00 p.m.), reducing the number of notifications you receive daily.
Note: regardless of your Notification Settings, you will always get Smart Alerts, Auto Notices, and Direct Messages instantly.

How to adjust Notification settings
On a web browser
- Login to PSQ using the email address provided when you registered your student: https://www.parentsquare.com/signin
- Select "My Account"
- Click "Notification Settings"
- Adjust settings
On the mobile app
- Tap the menu icon (three horizontal bars) at the top left of the home screen
- Select "Account"
- Tap "Notifications"
- Adjust settings
