School Psychologists play a critical role in fostering safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environments. They work closely with students, families, teachers, and administrators to promote healthy development, address challenges that impact learning, and ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed.

School Psychologists Overview

School Psychologists are highly trained professionals who help create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments. Their work goes far beyond testing — they are problem-solvers, collaborators, and advocates for students’ well-being.

ISD School Psychs partner with teachers, families, and administrators to:
-Identify and address learning needs. They conduct evaluations to better understand how students learn and to determine what supports will help them succeed.
-Promote mental health and wellness. They provide counseling, teach coping skills, and support students during times of stress, grief, or crisis.
-Strengthen school climate. They help design interventions, behavior plans, and strategies that create positive and inclusive classrooms for all students.
-Support families. They connect parents and guardians with resources, explain evaluation results, and guide them through the special education process when needed.
-Collaborate with staff. They work side by side with teachers, counselors, administrators, and community providers to meet students’ needs in a comprehensive way.
