If your child has a food allergy, intolerance, or other medical condition that requires a special diet, the Nutrition Services can accommodate those needs with proper documentation.

To request meal modifications, a Medical Statement for Student Requiring Special Meals form must be completed and signed by a licensed physician or recognized medical authority. This form ensures our Nutrition Services team can provide safe and appropriate meals for your child.

You can download the form below or request a copy from your school’s front office or the Nutrition Services Department. Once completed, please return it to your school nurse or the Nutrition Services.

Paying for School Meals

Introducing the MySchoolBucks 'FamilyPass'

MySchoolBucks (MSB) – the online payment system ISD uses for school meals – now offers FamilyPass.

  • What it is: A one-time $75 annual fee per family that replaces the $3.50 credit/debit card processing fee normally charged each time you add funds to a student’s meal account.

  • ACH payments (electronic check): Still carry a $2.75 fee per transaction.

  • No-fee option: You can always send funds directly to your student’s school at no charge.

  • Extras: Opting into FamilyPass also provides discounts with MSB partner brands.

How to Opt-In:

  1. Log in to your MySchoolBucks account.

  2. Begin a transaction to add funds to your student’s account.

  3. Click the green “Save on fees!” button.

  4. In the “MSB FamilyPass” window, click “Join Now.”

Nutrition Services Director

Welcome back to another school year. We have continued to make positive changes in our school meals and want to encourage you and your students to participate in the school breakfast and lunch programs this year.

The high schools students have an entrée salad bar that meets the reimbursable meal requirements of the Free and Reduced meal program. The meals that meet the Federal Reimbursements standards for Free & Reduced are referred to as “Value Meals." Salad bars have also been added in all 20 of our elementary schools. Low sodium, light cheese, reduced fat and whole grains are prevalent throughout the menu.

The changes that we are making are part of a district-wide initiative to provide students with quality meals, nutrition knowledge, skills and values to help them achieve academic success and a life time of health and wellness.

We hope that you will join us in helping your student make healthy food choices in school and at home.  Together we can have a positive impact in the elimination of childhood obesity and the deadly diseases that are associated with poor eating habits.

Thank you for your continued support and please don’t hesitate to call or email if I can be of assistance to you.

Sincerely,

Brad Kramer
Nutrition Services Director
