The Independence School District is firmly committed to creating a healthy, safe, and supportive environment where every student can thrive. We believe that vaping poses serious risks to the health and well-being of our students and has no place in our schools. Through education, prevention, and strong partnerships with families and the community, we aim to empower students to make positive choices and resist the pressures of vaping and substance use. Together, we are dedicated to promoting lifelong wellness and ensuring that our schools remain tobacco- and vape-free zones.

To promote the health of all individuals, the District prohibits all employees, students and patrons from smoking or using tobacco products, electronic cigarettes or imitation tobacco or cigarette products in all District facilities, on District transportation, on all District grounds at all times and at any District-sponsored event or activity while off campus."ISD Student Handbook
