Salary Schedules
A salary schedule is a formal document that outlines the pay structure for employees, typically based on factors such as job position, years of experience, and level of education or certification. It serves as a guide to determine the salary ranges for various positions within our district for multiple positions, including teachers and support staff.
Our salary schedules are organized into steps and columns:
-
Steps: This represents years of experience. As employees gain more years in the district, they move up steps on the salary schedule, increasing their pay.
-
Columns: This represents the level of education or additional certifications. Employees with higher levels of education or additional credentials (such as a master’s degree or specialized certification) may move across columns for a higher salary.
The salary schedule ensures pay equity and transparency within the district, making it easier to understand how salaries are determined while providing a clear path for salary progression. Schedules are voted on by the Board of Education each year.
