William Chrisman Students Participate in Read Across America
Nearly 100 William Chrisman High School students celebrated their love of reading by grabbing a book and going back to elementary school! Students visited six different ISD elementary schools, reading to several classes as part of the annual Read Across America celebration.
It was hard to tell who benefited more or who had more fun- the high school students or the elementary students. “It was great to get to read at my old elementary school and to get to see the kids enjoy reading,” said Adrianna Solary, a freshman who read at Benton.
Sophomore Danai Williams also read at Benton.
“It was pretty cool,” she said. “It was just so cute.”

Read Across America is a nationwide effort to promote reading. It is celebrated in March in honor of Dr. Seuss’s birthday. The program at William Chrisman was coordinated by Karen Burch, William Chrisman’s library media specialist.
