ISD Honors Retirees During Annual Banquet

It was time to say “thanks” and “goodbye” to 27 ISD employees during the district’s eighth annual Retirement Banquet inside the Independence Hilton Garden Inn. Those 27 retirees- with a combined 419 years in the ISD- were introduced individually and presented with several gifts.

Dr. Dale Herl, ISD superintendent, and Ann Franklin, ISD board of education president, thanked the retirees for their years of service and for their contributions to the district. Seven of the 27 honored during the ceremony spent more than 20 years in the ISD.

Before the banquet began, guests were entertained by members of the Truman, William Chrisman and Van Horn orchestra and when each retiree was introduced, they were escorted on stage by Truman, Chrisman and Van Horn cheerleaders.
