ISD Board of Education Director Denise Fears said, “I don’t think you can underestimate the benefit of the soft skills of adulting. It’s focusing on ‘what I can do.’ It’s focusing on inquiry and collaboration. I think being able to problem solve is a very good skill for our kids. Being able to work together helps prepare them for a future.”
Middle school students engage in active learning: fostering critical thinking, problem solving, and teamwork. ISD Board of Education Director Anthony J. Mondaine added, “Getting leadership opportunities to truly experience and develop those qualities and skills, wherever you want to go with your employment, you’ll have some experience to truly apply that at that workforce.”
