Independence School District Welcomes Two New Administrators to the District
The ISD is excited to announce two of the newest members of our administrative team: Tierney Solis and Stacy Smith.
Tierney Solis is joining the district as the Principal of Glendale Elementary. She is coming to us from the Kansas City International Academy where she has served as Assistant Principal, ELD Coordinator, and Instructional Coach. She began her career as a teacher in the Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools where she taught 5th, 4th, and 1st grades, served on several district curriculum cadres, and was a Literacy Lab Model Classroom for the district. She received her three degrees from the University of Missouri – Kansas City: her Bachelor’s of Elementary Education as a member of the Institute for Urban Education, her Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction, and an Ed.S. in K-12 Educational Administration as a member of the KC Plus Program.
Stacy Smith is joining the district as the Principal of Independence Academy. She is coming from Momentum High School in the Spring Independent School District in Texas where she served as Principal. Previously, she has served as the Principal of Dueitt Middle School and the Associate Principal for Curriculum and Instruction at Spring High School in the Spring Independent School District. She received her Bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of Houston and her Master’s in Educational Leadership from Sam Houston State University.
Each of these administrators begins with the ISD July 1.
