Substitute Compensation

Teachers who substitute intermittently on a day-to-day basis shall be paid at the rate of $95.00 per day, or $45.00 per half day. A half day is defined as teaching three and one-half hours.

The workday is the same as that of the classroom teacher. Planning periods that occur at the beginning or end of the day do not permit the substitute’s late arrival or early departure. (If you choose to leave early when the planning period is at the end of the day, you will not be paid for those hours.)

Substitutes are automatically enrolled for direct deposit of funds into their personal bank accounts. Please contact the Substitute Services Office should you need to update your information.

Pay days are semi-monthly on the 5th and 20th of each month or the closest banking day. Each pay period is two or three work weeks based on the Pay Period Chart. All employees are required to use direct deposit for their pay distribution. No pay stubs are printed. Employees will receive email notification of their net pay and can check their pay information including sub pay history on My Benefits anytime. It is your responsibility to update your contact information on the My Benefits website including email address, phone numbers, emergency contacts, and mailing address.
